If we defeat the Khan's horde, they will be broken - the Tartars can likely return to their own lands after working together. I say we offer them something simple: Combine forces and we will defeat the Khan together, allowing them all to return to their ancestral homelands. As a backup, we could offer them an area in the Southlands to call their own where we won't infringe upon. While they may not be converted right away, I am sure the light of the lord will see them convert in time. At the very least, I'd suggest opening diplomatic and trade ties with similar terms as my own along with a generalized non-aggression pact while the horde is in the peninsula. Of course, if we run into them on the field, the first idea might be the simplest to get done on the spot.

Understood.” The scribe continues to write down things on his scroll and organizes the notes taken so far. He looks up at Allectus and nods his head once he has confirmed his notes on everything that has occurred. Allectus then turns to the assembly hall and begins to speak.“Enough time has been spent on discussing troop and monetary commitments to this upcoming campaign against the Mongol horde. Let us pray it is enough this time. If any member wishes to pledge either men or funds to this endeavor, you are free to do so at any time moving forward and the scribe will record your contribution.” “Now moving on to the next item on the agenda, the Kingdom of Percia asks for contributions towards the relief and reconstruction of Percia once the Mongol threat has subsided. Having been a bulwark for many years and the main target of the Mongol advance, it is our Christian duty to assist our fellow brothers and sisters in Christ to rebuild their lives after losing so much. Please begin discussion on how best to address this issue and what we can do to provide assistance.” Speaker, I motion we table this discussion until the next Diet - we do not know if we will win this year, it is hard to commit to a victory that is left wanting. I also recommend that at some point, we return to the discussion of force composition. We should have an idea of what is committed not just "2000 men" - we are in dire need of heavy cavalry, light cavalry and archers. Our focus should be on that, and then infantry of secondary importance. It may be wise to have spearman to assist in defending our own archers from any horse based mischief. Lord Gewisse, The topic of conversation had moved to that of the Tartars and their potential for them to be our allies in this conflict. I believe it is not the right time to discuss relief and reconstruction efforts for the Kingdom of Percia until this war has ended and the threat of the horde has subsided. So we have thus moved on from that for now. No need for a motion or else we’d have to vote on ending discussion on every topic on the agenda or off of it. As for the composition of the Tyraman Republican forces and their mercenary contingent, they are as followed: 150 Heavy Cavalry 206 Light Cavalry 115 Archers 460 Heavy Infantry 230 Light Infantry 1,032 Levy Infantry

Which mercenaries did you hire so we can avoid any bidding war over them?

You can rest assured that the men I hired are not among the publicly known mercenary companies. There will be no bidding war involved in this case. I can however hire additional archers if there is a need of them.

As the good Duke Carlsen has noted, we stand by our decision to send 1000 Florins for Percia to use come next year. What it is used for, we leave to the Percians to decide, but we anticipate it will be utilised for reconstruction efforts. Irrespective of how the Elyrian-Amihanan conflict is resolved, which we reiterate our position that Elyria and Amihanan resolve it ourselves, those funds will be sent via ship to guarantee speed and security for those displaced. We won't be able to send funding this year though as it has been used already.
I do have a question though on this. With word that Percia's castle has fallen, and Sartaq's troops being seen west of Percia fighting the Tatars, does this mean Percia has fallen, or is there a settlement still holding out? As well, would the Percians have a location they'd like the funds to be sent too?
While a grim notion, we must prepare for what seems like the inevitability of Imperial troops not arriving in time before whatever is left of Percia is captured. Since we know now that Sartaq marches west toward Green Castle, and not north to Caelin, Carlsen's realm appears to be the best location to muster the armies before pushing east.
Regarding the Tatars, I suspect Duke Carlsen is correct that they will desire land above all else. Should Sartaq's forces be repelled, I don't know if it means the Tatar's lands to the far east will be liberated or still under Sartaq's control. So the next question stemming from that is, does Sartaq's army currently within the Empire's borders account for all their forces, or is there more coming? I hope for the former, but I feel we must brace for the latter.

I believe Percia still has two cities standing. One on the eastern border and the one closest to me. Presumably, the horde will try to conquer them first before making a firm decision on their next potential conquest.

As mentioned by Duke da Carlsen, Percia still stands from the latest news and from the information shared by its delegate here at the Diet.
Mustering forces at the edges of Green Castle would not help Percia nor stop the Mongol horde from approaching any further.
Once we have a commander for our unified army, they can be charged with negotiating with the Tartars in exchange for their assistance to oust this godless horde out of Christian lands and hopefully lead up to victory, God willing.

The Capital of Percia has come under siege from a mighty horde from the far eastern reaches! It is said that there are more than 2000 horsemen among their number, and so far they have raided and burned everything before them. God save our souls! We had received news quite early on that the capital had been besieged, and thought it had fallen as well. A blessing then if that is not the case. The purpose of mustering on the eastern edge of Duke Carlsen's lands is that it would be a central point for all men to unite at. From there, they can push out east to fight alongside the Tatar pagans. However, if that is not feasible, then where do you suggest the meeting point be?

The capital and castle had fallen. Percia has 2 other cities.
I believe we will likely unite somewhere south of the mountain passes in the woods though a firm destination has not been determined yet.

The capital of Percia did indeed fall.

Allectus gestures to the scribe.
“Thank you for the clarification.
Now that the northern lords have expressed their support or pledged funds and mercenaries to the cause, if we can move now to the remaining delegates who have not voiced their support, or lack thereof. If the delegates or lords of the Argent Despotate, Kingdom of Percia, Kingdom of Silesia and Merchant Republic of Caelin can let us know the composition of their forces they are willing and able to commit to the fight we can get moving along to the last item on the agenda and clear up any additional matters that may arise.

If I may suggest, leave the levy at home. They’ll just be lambs to the slaughter again.
I am hopeful the remaining states will note their commitment. As is, we have: 1390 infantry 1832 levy 530 archers 481 light cavalry 200 heavy cavalry
No doubt we are in dire need of more skirmishers. A minimum 1500 should be strived for. Likely need 1500-2000 cavalry.

Levy are an important part of the army as a reserve. Do not leave the levy behind - there is no disadvantage in taking them.

If the battle comes down to levy - it’s lost. They’re poorly armed, armored, and trained. Literal fodder. The combined armies are facing 5000 horse archers and we heard what happened last time.
Why send the smallfolk to certain slaughter if they are needed?
