It is noted that the following proposal seconded by Duke Medici will be brought before the vote tally once all discussions are completed:
1- We return the Diet to every 3 years
Seeing as there has been no other proposals supplied for discussion for this Diet, the discussions are as follows:
1. Diet every 3 years instead of 5 (Kingdom of Gewisse) 2. Official Location of Diet (Argent Despotate) 3. Revisions to how Diet settles wars/conflicts (Kingdom of Gewisse) 4. Establishment of Holy Order (Argent Despotate) 5. Tatars and Muslim Raiders/Attacks (Republic of Tyramo)
Given that a motion has already been seconded regarding the Diet assembly, I now move our discussion onto Proposal 2. The official location of the Diet codified into law.
Please begin discussion on where this blessed Imperial Diet shall be ordained to meet. After that, we shall continue onto the third topic.

Allectus adjusted his cloak and clothes as he stood up to speak.
Gentle lords and nobles,
I support the codification of the Diet’s purview with regards to settling and discussing potential resolutions to war, conflicts and any other special military operations. I likewise believe it would be in our best interest to include the additional amendments proposed by the Most Serene Doge Medici. Further clarifying what this body can and cannot do with regards to settling wars and imposing peace terms.
Though I personally have no concerns with a Diet being held every 5 years. I am likewise also willing to attend one every 3 years given how quickly things can change in a short about of time.

Allectus stood momentarily to speak then sat down afterwards.
The Republic feels there is no better place to hold the meetings of this august body other than in the Holy City of Reme itself, presided by His Holiness the Pope of Reme.
If however other options are desired, we would suggest the drawing of lots to determine the location of the next Diet. Or we may allow the Speaker’s home country to become the host of the Diet every 10 years.
We prefer the first option of Reme but would be amenable to the others suggested.

We support the location of the Diet being in Reme. It is only right and just.

I also am in support of the Diet being housed in Reme. The Pope's demesne is politically neutral in Imperial matters, and thus a safe place to ensure future Diets can be conducted with no potential threat of underhanded or criminal behaviours.

The issue is immaterial. Percia will vote for the Diet to be held in Reme forthwith as has been done in recent years, but this is not important business and should be hastily pushed through so we may get to more pressing motions.

While the capital city of the Argent Despotate would also proudly accept hosting the Imperial Diet, it seems there is a number of agreement on Reme. Would anyone desire to second that motion?

"I'm not sure if you're asking if there's a second for a motion to have the diet location changed or remain the same. If it's the latter, I would second the motion for the diet to remain in Reme."

“With the second item being…….seconded, I suppose we can move on to discussing the third item on the agenda:
Revisions to how the Diet settles wars/conflicts.
I find the Gewissen proposal to be both sound and proper.
I believe there were some proposed amendments to the proposal however.”

As I had stated before, the only addition I'd propose is that if one party brings up the idea for the Diet to help find peace, then the Diet would merely be open to a possible mediation. If it fails, then it's not our problem anymore and the two warring parties can resolve it themselves. But the intention of this allows the Diet to act as the public Forum that it is, allowed others to pitch ideas that might help the two parties find peace. It also allows us to know if a situation similar to the Phallic-Caelin war happens where one party wants a total domination of the other while they are of equal power.
However, if both parties agree to a Diet peace, then it is an arbitration whereby the terms of said peace will be enforced by all the realms here. This likewise extends to the Pope himself demanding peace, with equal levels of enforcement from the realms, as we saw with the Kingdom of Thorgerheim.

We have no objections as long as the proposed peace remains voluntary.

The Republic finds that the additions to the proposal are very reasonable. We move to have them voted on by the Diet along with the main proposal. Would anyone second the motion?

After drafting a quick document for the proposal, and having the scribes copy it and pass it out to all members to review, the Serene Prince then rises to speak
The proposal would look as follows:
I am open to suggestions should this not be to your expectations.

Allectus reviewed the document. Making the occasional remarks and conferring with his advisor. He also made some notes on the margins. Once recognized by the Speaker, he stood up to speak.
Good and Honest Serene Doge and fellow Diet members,
Though I was unaware of any earlier suggestion to include a threat of war to enforce peace agreements agreed to by the Diet, I understand the need for them to ensure these treaties have some “teeth” to reprimand any realm errant enough to disregard said peace.
One suggestion I do have is designating a War Leader for such conflicts to coordinate the various forces that would be arrayed against those who defy the will of the Diet. This authority can be vested in the position of Lord Speaker or it can be voted upon once the Diet has voted to declare war on the realm or realms that have violated the peace agreement. The War Leader wouldn’t command the forces directly but would be in charge of strategy and war planning. We don’t want to imagine what a multi realm war would look like without any sort of coordination.
