Multiple expeditions have departed from the Isle of the Order of the Ichthus. Outfitted with everything they might need, they replenished their supplies with the founding settlers of the new Order before departing towards the holy land and beyond in search of the much rumored technology. From here they travel into the unknown and success or failure will only be known when--if--they return.

A pilgrimage to the Holy Lands is said to have been viciously slaughtered by infidels. It is rumored that a large or small but definitely not a medium expedition of liberal Westoids may have been among the dead.
In the southlands, with the collapse of several realms the Tatar hordes seem to have proliferated across the region. Merchants speak of an entire tribe of them settled within the Realm of Percia.
For almost a decade, the Pilgrims of the Blessed Coin have been traveling the land, from parts unknown they came bearing old Reme coins and gave charity wherever they went. Multiple realms offered them a place in their lands but they kept to their modest tenants and continued in holy pilgrimage across Christendom, offering work as humble light infantry if needed. Late last fall somewhere in neutral territory they met the infidel mercenaries Allah's Holy Shields on the road back from their employment. What exactly transpired is unknown but an offense was made and the infidels slaughtered the pilgrim warriors to a man.

The merchants of Christendom all report hearing the same rumor, that something is stirring in the east beyond the borders of Percia. Many tell tales of having met bands of Tatars who were seeking refuge in the Christian lands, other speak of distant trading partners falling silent. What is very evident is the effect of this unknown force, as the stream of Tartars becomes a flood, with Tartars now being reported as far west as the lands of Green Castle, and as far north as the Kingdom of Silesia.
What comes, what comes? Only God knows..

The Kingdom of Percia is awash with refugees! Waves of humanity from the East have poured across the Kingdom. Many sought shelter but the King demanded conversion or eviction, as such it is now understood the Kingdom has become a highway for those moving away from whatever is coming. The land is being picked clean by hungry and desperate people.
In addition the Tartar tribe which had settled on the periphery of Percia has been banished after their refusal to convert.
Whatever is coming it is clear Percia is at the very frontier of it, and their King knows more than most of Christendom, who or if he shares that knowledge with anyone is unknown.

The Battle of Buckcherry Hill was fought between the Merchant Republic of Elyria and the Amihanan Trade League.
The battle began when the Republic of Elyria attempted to besiege the Amihanan castle. The forces of the League marched against them and they met in the rolling steppe foothills. Elyria and Amihanan both sent forth skirmishers, with Amihanan's numerical advantage sending Elyria's skirmishers back into their ranks. Elyria braced their center with a mass of well trained and led infantry while they attempt to flank with their cavalry. Amihanan did the reverse and after clearing skirmishers charged down the middle with their cavalry.
What resulted was a clash of metal and meat, and after a large brawl the center of Elyria's army collapsed from the large force of heavy cavalry Amihanan brought to bear. Losess are likely to have been high on both sides but Amihanan took the field.

The Battle of Spanky's Bluff was one of the bloodiest battles in Christendom in the last decade. The forces of the Kingdom of Kressia, responding to urgent dispatches from the Doge of Elyria marched for months back across the lands to relieve the siege laid by the Amihanans.
The Duke Macroix of the League turned his army, centered around heavy cavalry mercenaries to face them. Rather presciently the Kressian King had brought a unit of pikemen to battle with him.
Using the exact same tactics as their last battle, the Duke sent forward his skirmishers to harass and break up the enemy, without skirmishers of their own the Kressians endured and their center withered under the arrows, using their light infantry to conceal their pikes to their rear. Following up was around four hundred cavalry charging down the middle into the mass of infantry. The infantry collapsed where upon the charging cavalry ran full speed into Kressia's hidden pikes of their center; the chaos and brutality was total. Snapping shafts, twisted meat and metal. God wept but the sheer mass of cavalry overwhelmed the small unit of pikemen.
It was at this moment the Doge's exhausted relief force crashed into the Amihanan left flank, crumpling it under the combined weight of Kressian and Elyrian forces. Over a thousand men meleed on this flank alone and if the center had held the allies would have surely saved the day. If...if...however all this was not to be and the Duke of Amihanan and his League carried the day, their banners still flying proud over a much reduced army.
The Doge must have felt a deep sorrow to see the besieging army returning to their siege camp and positions. The Amihanans will likely seek far greater retribution after all of this.

The Battle of Savona Heights was fought between the Allied forces of Kressia and Elyria against Duke Macroix. Continuing the war from the last year the forces arrayed in splendor and pageantry on the rolling hills near Elyria's southern city. The Allies left command to the Doge of Elyria who selected a particular height south of town where battle would be met.
Despite facing a force far larger than his own, the Duke Macroix marched with confidence in the midst of his over four hundred heavy cavalry, mostly mercenaries, whom he rode with personally.
The battle began with the Duke's archers skirmishing with the Allied light cavalry whom the Doge ordered to screen the front. The light cavalry suffered viciously under the rain of missiles but managed to reach and scatter the opposing skirmishers, being entirely spent in the process.
It is said at this moment the Doge and King Henry of Kressia watched together as the Duke's cavalry moved to the right flank, opposing their own knights. The Duke's left occupied by light cavalry and a wall of infantry advanced up the middle as the horses went to a gallop.
The clash of almost seven hundred heavy cavalry was a roaring clamor whose cacophony was overwhelming. The bloodshed and maiming was apocalyptic and the noble households of all nations present were vastly and immediately reduced. Still the Duke's forces were simply overwhelming and the outnumbered Allied knights who survived fled into their own ranks hotly pursued by the still charging enemy. Even uphill and against a large body of mostly buffed light infantry the flank was totally and wholly lost to the Duke.
Macroix's greatest moment of glory lasted as long as it took for him to turn his head from the enemy left to the center and right. The Allies thousands of infantry had pressed home and the Duke's infantry was being run down and driven back whilst his light cavalry faded away after being ground down in melee with an infantry who failed to break from their charge. His remaining heavy cavalry was in no position to charge the center, the battle was lost.

It is August 1212.
To the south of the city of Percyandria a great battle unfolded. On one side, a great Christian coalition comprised of troops from the Argent Despotate, the Republic of Tyramo and the Merchant Republic of Caelin, and on the other side a great Mongol Horde. The Christian force, comprised of 7717 infantry and 500 cavalry, stood facing an equally titanic army of at least 5000 horse archers and 500 specialist lancers.
The field of battle, a picturesque grassy field in the throws of early autumn, would be the scene of a battle to equal any titanic clash of ancient times.
For the Christian army the battle started with an attempt to keep the Mongol horse archers contained by engaging them in a skirmishing battle. This quickly failed, as the sheer weight of the Mongol archery drove the Christian archers from the field, opening up the main army to similar attacks. The Mongols then continued firing upon the Christian army as it stood immobilised and gradually surrounded. Christian knights and light cavalry rode out to face the Mongols, but were outnumbered in such numbers that not even the bravery of these most holy paladins could turn away the tide of horse archers that inevitably encircled the entire Christian host, leaving a desperate and confused mass of levied peasants as the center of a slowly panicking army.
What those poor souls saw at the center of this human mass was indescribable. Waves of arrows came above them, slaughtering them in bunches like cornered fowl, and as the army attempted numerous swipes at the neverending circle of Mongol cavalrymen they would inevitably be consumed by the maelstrom of arrows, spears and swords that encircled the Christian host like a whirling vortex.
This terror carried on for the entire day, as Mongol archers continued raining volley by volley down on the surrounded foe, eventually leading the peasant levy, the core of the Christian army, to break in a chaotic mass, streaming towards the edge of the circle of hatred. Here they met only death and destruction at the hands of a well prepared foe, who had not doubt fought tens if not hundreds of similar battles.
As the sun began to set, the Christian host was annihilated bit by bit, with segments of the army attempting to break out and inevitably meeting their doom. Only a charge, at the end of the day, saw some of the knights of the host break out, carrying with them the tattered survivors of the nobles who had fought that day.

An expedition has returned with new technology!
All of Christendom is abuzz with the word that one of the expeditions which departed so long ago has returned with success. They have brought back this new technology and are spreading it throughout the blessed nation where they came from.
There are also rumors that other expeditions met less fortunate ends.

Reports have come in that throughout the spring several raiding parties of the Great Khan's Horde were attacked by Tartars. The raiders were attempting to push further into the Southlands but they appear to have been repulsed in some places by the Tartars in the region.
Little is known about the skirmishes or the size of the forces involved but it appears that the two groups may be at odds.

In the eastern reaches of Green Castle, a great battle has been fought between the Mongol horde and an army led by the Duke himself. Seemingly to the surprise of the Christian forces, the Mongol army has appeared elsewhere than expected, and has struck a decisive blow against the coalition which was rumored around all of Christendom. That the Khan knew of this plan is a shock to all involved. The battle itself, according to those from the Duchy who left it alive, was a long affair that saw Mongol horse archers coral the Christians throughout the day, ending in the surrender of the Duchal forces who faced either annihilation or servitude. What the Khan will do next is unknown.

Horror! Calamity!
The forces of the Great Khan ravage the countryside around Reme. The lucky ones were killed. The rest are subjected to the godless, torturous desires of the wretched heathen host. The Great Khan burns holy men outside the city walls every night. Uncaught survivors are now hunted as sport and it is said not a sparrow is left alive in the scorched earth surrounding Reme. How could god forsake us?
The Holy Father prays the rosary on the parapets of Reme whilst sobbing every night to the unending howl of suffering and pain outside the city walls. In the streets, endless marching flagellants and monks cry out "Where is thine mighty hand, oh God? God strike down the enemies of Christ! Save the believers of Reme! Save our wretched souls from the demons at our gates!"
